Operating a private, Christian school is a significant undertaking, requiring sacrifice from our congregation in time, talent, and financial support. So why has St. Paul’s remained steadfast in this mission for over 160 years?
The answer is simple: Christ is in all things.
More Than Academics: An Eternal Foundation
All schools teach children to read, write, and do arithmetic. Many also emphasize good citizenship and personal responsibility. At St. Paul’s, we are committed to strong academics and character development as well, but we also teach that who you know is eternally more important than what you know.
And that Who is Jesus Christ.
Our Mission and Values
At the heart of our school is a clear value statement that guides everything we do:
Teaching the truth of Jesus.
Growing as a family.
Serving mind, body, and soul.
These are not just words on paper; they shape our classrooms, relationships, and daily life.
Teaching the Truth of Jesus
We teach the truth of Jesus by grounding all instruction in God’s Word and the doctrine of Justification – that we are saved by grace, through faith in Christ alone.
Our synodically trained teachers are central to this mission. Through love, respect, and a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, they nurture energetic servant leaders who are equipped to live for Christ in all areas of life.
Growing as a Family
St. Paul’s is more than a school—it is a family.
Smaller class sizes allow teachers to truly know their students. Fewer layers of bureaucracy allow educators to focus on what matters most: teaching and mentoring children. Meaningful relationships form between students, parents, teachers, and congregation members, strengthening trust and community.
Most importantly, the freedom to openly share Jesus creates a unifying bond that shapes both hearts and minds.
Serving Mind, Body, and Soul
We believe in educating the whole child.
- Mind: Strong academics that challenge students and prepare them for future success
- Body: Opportunities in athletics and physical development
- Soul: Daily prayer, worship, and Christ-centered instruction that nurture lifelong faith
This holistic approach prepares students not only for the next grade, but for life beyond graduation.
Making Christ-Centered Education Accessible
Our dedication to educating youth in the Oconomowoc area is evident through our commitment to affordability. This year alone, nearly $75,000 in financial aid has been awarded to school families.
These funds come from faithful congregational offerings and special events such as our annual gala—an outpouring of generosity that reflects our shared mission to make Christ-centered education accessible to families.
A Legacy of Faith Across Generations
As we enter the season of re-enrollment, many families are prayerfully considering their children’s educational path. Choosing a private, parochial school is an intentional investment—one we believe is deeply worthwhile.
St. Paul’s family-like atmosphere is one of the qualities that sets our Lutheran school apart. Recently, we celebrated the birthday of a fifth-generation St. Paul’s student—a powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness across generations.
We also regularly welcome new students through shadow days, many of whom learn about our school through neighbors and friends. From the moment they arrive, they are embraced by classmates who quickly become family.
Christ-Centered. Family-Focused. Purpose-Driven.
This is who we are: a Christ-centered community committed to teaching the truth of Jesus, growing as a family, and serving mind, body, and soul.
