We were created to be full of faith, hope and love…yet sin marred that in the most profound way. Adam and Eve and their descendants (Indeed, the whole creation!) groaned in eager expectation for God’s deliverance. Jesus came for just that purpose, but our freedom was not free. The price of our restoration was extraordinarily high: the death of the Son of God himself. By the hearing of that Gospel of Christ Jesus, “whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith” (Rom. 3:25), “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:31–32). This freedom is for all “those who dwell on earth, … every nation and tribe and language and people” (Rev. 14:6). That includes you. Christ has rescued you by His grace from the slavery of sin and death, that you might eat and drink with Him in His Kingdom and “remain in the house forever” (John 8:35). How does that truth impact how you live?)
