Life in the body can be challenging: injuries, sickness, decay… but the resurrection of Jesus gives us hope. Jesus is the incarnate Son of God, the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last. (Rev 1.8) He died for all people, and behold, He is alive forevermore! He is the Living One, “the firstborn of the dead” (Rev. 1:5). He is—and ever will be—God-in-the-flesh. His bodily resurrection not only opened the kingdom of heaven to us, but here-and-now it is a call to live—in the body—toward the life to come. This, in fact, is why His Word is written, that you may “believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,” that by such faith “you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).
